Websters Dictionary describes a “Filly” as a vivacious young woman or girl. Fillies in the equine world are known to be bold, curious, with soft eyes and a big heart. There is no better description for the group of ladies who converge on Evangeline Trail Rides every Wednesday.
Established in 2005, “The Fillies” is a group of cowgirls ranging in age from 17 to 73 and come from all walks of life. Brought together by a love of horses, each one has been welcomed to “the herd”, growing in numbers to approximately 35 strong.
This amazing group of ladies will welcome you with a smile and make you feel like you’ve known them forever. In todays’ world, we talk a lot about being present, being in the moment. The Fillies embrace this philosophy, connecting with their horses and savoring every moment spent in the saddle and in each others’ company.
We get together on the basis of our similarities; we grow on the basis of our differences.
